Summer Tokyo MBA Networking Event
Passing this along from an HBS-bound client from last year.
When I sent this to my clients, I included the following note:
"I think networking events can be fun and informative. I also know they can cause panic and anxiety. Just keep in mind that there are a lot of crazy rumors about "what you have to do to succeed" in the MBA process. Most of them are not true. From my experience, 95% of the application process consists of internal searching, not tricks. What do you want to do? Why? How do your past experiences fit into this vision? etc.
So please enjoy yourselves at these kinds of events if you go. Maybe give yourself a goal of meeting 5 new people and use your conversations to refine your own thinking and help others refine theirs."
